 SHSL TALENT:
 Talisman Expert
EXPLANATION: She travels around the world, looking for talismans from different cultures. She records them in a journal, along with breakdowns of what the colors, symbols, materials, etc. mean in that culture, as well as noting general trends in meaning throughout various cultures. Because of this, she also knows how to design talismans with specific meanings, and she sometimes assists archaeological teams in recovering talismans, and anthropologists in documenting them, because her knowledge means that she is often familiar with the sorts of layout that the places talismans are kept in have, and she can often help figure out what a talisman means/in what context it was used. She also collects talismans when possible, and thus has some with her at all times.

 PERSONALITY
+ Cheerful: She tends to look on the bright side of things, even when it’s a struggle for her. Moments where she cannot keep up an optimistic outlook are spent away from other people, to avoid dragging anyone down with her, and attempt to remain a source of morale.
+ Friendly: She has a habit of wanting to meet and connect with new people. She sees everyone she has met as a friend, and will not hate anyone, no matter what they do. Because she travels a lot, she has various interesting contacts all over the world.
+ Good memory: Although she doesn’t have a good memory in the most traditional sense, she is able to remember random bits of trivia she’s learned during her travels, which can come in handy during odd situations. She is also good at remembering names and personal information about her friends.
= Neutral: Because she considers everyone a friend or potential friend, she has a difficult time picking a side in a fight. She may play Devil's advocate, siding with whoever is losing, or she may fight for both sides, or she may simply become stressed.
= Emotional: She leads with her heart, not with her head. Although this can lead her to acts of kindness, it can also get her into bad situations or lead to her getting overwhelmed.
= Whimsical: Her mind has a habit of coming up with random or odd solutions to problems, which she usually impulsively acts on. Sometimes, they end up being logical. However, they are just as likely to make no sense.
- Naïve: Part of her optimism comes from the fact that she does not always fully comprehend situations. She does not accept that anyone can be naturally cruel, either. She occasionally struggles with knowledge of phrases (like idioms), and some cultural traditions.
- Talkative: She can come on a bit too strong, and babble on when she’s excited or nervous.
- Stubborn: She tends to think that she has a better grasp of the situation than she does, and insists on getting her way without knowing the circumstances, assuming it to be right. She can end up sulky if she is overlooked.

BIO  (Everything that's gone on in your character's life, should be at least two paragraphs)

From an early age, Bai-Zhen was a bit of an odd duck. She had trouble recognizing social cues compared to her peers, and as such, did not make many friends. Her father was always somewhat absent, so her mother was essentially the only source of companionship in her life. In addition, once she started school, more oddities came to light. She struggled with STEM fields to an unusual degree, from a very young age. However, she was very good at remembering things related to language and culture. In fact, before she had even started elementary school, she started learning French to speak it with her mother, and by age 7, could speak and read it almost as well as her native Mandarin. She would peruse atlases during her free time, and expressed desires to travel the world. She also became enamoured with mythology and folklore from various cultures, especially legendary items and magical charms. She dreamed of travelling the world and experiencing these cultures first hand.

When she 7, things changed. Her mother was revealed to have been having a long-term affair with another man, and left to be with him. Bai-Zhen begged her mother to take her too, but her mother brushed her off, claiming that she had only ever loved Bai-Zhen because as a parent she was obligated to, and said that having another man's child would look bad. However, her mother gave her a parting gift of a pendant with a strange talisman on it. After her mother left, her father couldn't stand to stay in their house any longer, and decide that he and Bai-Zhen would live a more nomadic life, and from then on, they were constantly travelling.

Although the loss of her mother hurt her very badly, Bai-Zhen was elated to finally get a chance to travel the world. She started studying several other common languages, and made a goal to make at least one friend in every place she visited. She also became obsessed with talismans. Although they had been a subject of interest before, they became her main passion. Her goal was to find out the meaning of the charm her mother had given her, in case it was intended as a final message. She started studying the talismans of the native cultures in places she visited with her father. She made notes about the meanings in different cultures, hoping to find common traits or even cultural clues in her mother's talisman. By age 13, she had gathered enough notes that she could sometimes convince professionals to let her work with them. She still remained with her father, although they never grew any closer. However, she was essentially self-reliant, and at age 15, when a traumatizing incident in France caused her to flee the country, she left her father behind, although the two still occasionally remained in touch through the phone. She continued to travel on her own, starting to insist on payment for her assistance.

When she was seventeen, her travels took her to Russia, she befriended a girl named Vitaliya, who's mother worked in the publishing industry. Vitaliya encouraged her to show the notes to her mother, and her mother got them published into a book. Because the information was thorough, and covered talismans in a variety of cultures, it became a popular guide for people studying anthropology and/or mythology. When Hope's Peak found out that the book had been written by one 17-year-old, they gave her an invitation to the school as the Super High School Level Talisman Expert. Since she hadn't actually been to a physical school since elementary, having taken online courses while travelling, she was curious, and accepted the invitation.
